Simply slide the disc across the wood until you find the location you want to mark—the clear acrylic lets you see the grain below so you can select the best spot. Then, push a pin into the center, put a pencil into the hole corresponding to the diameter of circle you'd like to draw, and trace your circle.
The hole pattern allow circles to be drawn from 1" to the stated diameter (6, 8, or 10 inches) in 1/4" increments.
